How It Works

Five things a house actually asks of you.

Britemet is not a place to file paperwork. It is the part that tells you what is coming, what to do when something breaks, and what you are owed when you claim.

01 · Start

Upload the inspection report. Skip the data entry.

The report from your purchase already describes your house. Britemet reads it and proposes your home profile, systems, appliances, known defects, projects, and a starting maintenance schedule. You review and confirm before anything is filed.

  • Extraction is consent-gated and always reviewable
  • Where the report omits a cost you get a deliberately broad planning range, never presented as a quote
  • A house that would take a weekend to enter is set up in minutes
02 · Foresee

A 15-year replacement forecast, and the reserve to fund it.

Every major system gets an expected replacement window with a cost range adjusted for your state, plus a confidence level so you know what is a real date and what is an estimate.

  • Repair-versus-replace guidance as equipment ages out
  • A monthly reserve target, funded against the actual due dates
  • What-if scenarios: delay a replacement or model higher costs, and watch the reserve move
  • Overlapping-failure years flagged before they arrive
03 · Fix

When it breaks at 11pm, the Repair Room runs the job.

Describe the problem or photograph the equipment. You get triage, then the whole workflow: a contractor packet you can hand over, before and after photos, the invoice, and the follow-up maintenance so the same failure does not repeat.

  • Saved manuals, recalls, and warranty status attached to the case
  • Invoices and photo evidence kept with the case, so service history builds itself
  • Follow-up tasks written back into your maintenance schedule
04 · Claim

Be the household that gets paid properly.

Contents claims get underpaid when you cannot prove what you owned. Coverage finds the holes in your evidence before you need it.

  • Missing photo, receipt, serial number, and room-evidence gaps, ranked by value at risk
  • Your contents limit compared against what your inventory is actually worth
  • Rider candidates for the items a standard policy will not cover
  • Integrity-checked disaster snapshots and printable claim packets
05 · Stay Ahead

Autopilot decides what actually matters this week.

Autopilot reads across seven signals - open recalls, maintenance due, warranties expiring, equipment lifecycle, seasonal timing, your service history, and the age of the house - and produces a prioritised 12-month care plan, plus a weekly briefing of the three things worth your attention. One-click seasonal packs add the right tasks for your climate and the month you are in.

Safety

When it might be a gas leak, we do not ask a model.

Emergency triage in the Repair Room runs on deterministic rules, not AI inference. Gas, carbon monoxide, electrical burning smells and similar signals match fixed safety rules with cited public sources and an explicit list of what not to attempt yourself. Brit helps you find things in your records. It does not decide whether your house is safe.

Meet Brit · Your Household AI Assistant

Ask about your home. Brit searches your records.

When AI is on, Brit answers from household records your role can access. You can also ask it to create reminders, tasks, and similar follow-ups when those tools are available. Without a model, it falls back to local search over your data.

When is my HVAC filter due? Find my dishwasher warranty. What bills are unpaid?

Your permissions still apply. Brit only uses records your role can access. Wi‑Fi passwords and access codes stay in your database, never the model. Turn AI off anytime in Settings. Production runs Claude on AWS Bedrock. See the AI Policy.

Done. I added a reminder for Tuesday.

Ask about your home...Ask
01

Find the Answer in Your Records

Ask about maintenance, warranties, inventory, documents, vehicles, family context, trips, or service history when those records exist and your role can see them.

02

Keep Maintenance Moving

Ask what is due, and when you choose, mark a task complete so the next due date and service history can update.

03

Turn a Thought into Action

From chat, Brit can help create reminders, tasks, calendar events, shopping-list items, and chores, subject to your role and what the assistant supports.

04

Choose Vendors with Context

Ask who handled past work and review your own ratings, notes, and service history when you need a contractor again.

05

Plan Around Real Life

Get practical checklists and home-care suggestions that can draw on your records and general household guidance, not a substitute for professional advice.

06

See What Needs Attention

Check unpaid bills, upcoming dates, open tasks, subscriptions, projects, and household events when your role allows it.

Family Access and Security

Shared with the right people. Protected from everyone else.

Give each person the context they need while sensitive household details remain encrypted, permissioned, and accountable.

Everyone Who Lives There

The whole family, on the same page.

One parent owns the household and invites the rest with a link. Five roles decide what each person sees.

OwnerEverything, plus managing the household and its plan.
AdminEverything, including inviting members and changing roles.
MemberFull day-to-day access, including finances and vault reveals. No member management.
ChildContacts, vendors, maintenance, chores, and the emergency card. No finances, documents, or stored codes.
SitterA temporary, read-only view: emergency card, pet care, and house guides. Expires on its own.
AES-256-GCM encrypted

Your home’s most sensitive details, actually secure.

  • Field-level encryption. Highly sensitive values such as Wi-Fi passwords and safe or alarm codes are encrypted at rest, hidden by default, and revealed only to authorized roles.
  • Audited reveals. Sensitive-field reveals are logged with the user and time for accountability.
  • Your data is yours. Export household data from the product when you need it. Household transfer and private-data handling options are available in-app where supported.
